LIKE TO LAUGH ABOUT THE TRAUMA'S AND INDIGNITIES OF LIFE

LOVE A GOOD STORY, A LOT OF PLOT TWISTS AND BIG EPIC FALLS.

Kristina has a yarn that starts with a search for self, scales to a massive fall from the sky, a life or death decision, and a twisty road back from recovery.

For fans of Mike Birbiglia.

WERE SPOON-FED THE STORY OF A PERFECT HAPPILY EVER AFTER

Kristina takes aim at the good-girl myths that were spoon-fed to women about how to act and what they would receive if they did exactly what they were told. Plus, she looks deeply at personal intuition vs societal rules and has a lot to say.

For anyone who is or has yet to become a feminist.

ONLY VAGUELY LIKE FLEABAG AND WITH A MUCH HAPPIER ENDING

COME SEE KRISTINA TACKLE HER BIGGEST FEAR

STILL WANT TO KNOW MORE?

This fall, Kristina Libby brings her fearless voice to the stage with the premiere of her one-woman show, Holy Sh*t, I Almost Died For This?!*, debuting at the United Solo Theatre Festival, the world’s largest solo theatre festival on Theatre Row.

Libby—a Moth StorySLAM winner—began writing this show to shed light on the experience of traumatic brain injuries, but the story quickly grew into something more. Her injury wasn’t the result of a single tragic accident, but of chasing a “happily ever after” at any cost. What emerged is both a recovery tale and also an exploration of the societal rules and beliefs that drove her to risk everything—even her life—for love. Along the way, the show weaves in her public art career, including leading a national COVID-19 memorial movement with 1-800-Flowers.com, as well as the painting practice that emerged from her recovery. But at its heart, it’s the story of a woman confronting the fantasies society promised her, reckoning with the harsh truths of her lived experience, and ultimately freeing herself from self-imposed oppression.

“I wanted to make sense of something that didn’t make sense,” says Libby. “Humor was my lifeline, and storytelling became the way forward. The show is for anyone out there who has believed in fairytales, gotten their heartbroken, nearly died and then had to figure out what they were doing without reduced cognitive functions. Or..for anyone who has ever tried to live by the rules and found them oppressive."

Directed by Padraic Lillis, the show was developed in Matt Hoverman’s GO-SOLO Workshop and workshopped in Ryan Cunningham's Gold Comedy Writer's Lab.
